Hello, welcome to Legacy of Freedom. I'm your host, Eric McBride. I'm glad that you joined me today. I want to talk to you this morning about leaning on God's understanding. Leaning on God's wisdom. Do you ever feel like you're stuck? Do you ever feel like you're just overwhelmed? Maybe you're there today. Well, I've got good news for you. God is never stuck. God is never overwhelmed. God is never overburdened. We, as human beings, when we lean on our own understanding, all these emotions, all these thought patterns begin to overwhelm us. That's why the Bible tells us in Proverbs chapter three Here's wisdom. Verse number five, he says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. Are you leaning on your own understanding? Have you got everything mapped out, figured out, measured out? Everything that you got laid out is like everything's just spread out. You're looking at everything, and you're looking at it as if you got it all figured out. Listen, I'm not here to rebuke you. I'm here to encourage you. Sometimes we get in this mode of, you know, we've got the wheel. We're driving down the road and and we know where we're going and we know everything that's going to happen when we get there. That's presumptuous. We cannot presume that we know everything that we'll be. We're not we don't have the that type of revelation. We don't have that. He will deposit in us, you know, word of wisdom, word of knowledge by the Holy Spirit. He'll give us insight. But let's be honest, we cannot lean on our own understanding. If we do, we'll fall over. But here's the good news. When we acknowledge God in all our ways, you can run up against an obstacle and you can say, God, I don't know how I can get out of this place. But then our faith goes back to the one who is able to help us and he's able to deliver us. And we say, God, I'm remembering, I'm recalling all the instances I've ever read in Scripture, all the times that you've helped me before, and God, I am confident that you're able to help me, that you know exactly what to do. When Peter was in prison, remember that in the book of Acts, where James was taken by Herod and he was killed. And then he took Peter and he planned to kill him. The word tells us that the church prayed without ceasing. And Peter is laying in in the jail cell asleep. The angel of the Lord comes, he wakes him up, and as he gets up, he tells him, Get clothed, the chains fall off, and he begins to lead Peter out of the prison. Now, Peter didn't sit there and begin to go through all the ways that he could have an escape plan. He was simply in a place he could not get out. But when the church prayed, God knew exactly what he would do. He would send his angel and he would break him out of jail, and he would deliver him from the hand of the one who had set his mind to destroy him, to take his life. I want to encourage you today. God has every resource to deliver us out of every trouble. God has every resource to provide for every need. God is not limited as we're limited. I want to encourage you, just put your confidence in him. Lean completely upon his understanding, his ability. Lean completely upon his arm because his arm is not weak, it is strong. I just want to thank God for that today. Because yeah, I've trusted in my own limited resources before and they ran out. But I've never exhausted the goodness of God. And whatever you are facing or will face, you can be assured God is not going to fail you. He has absolutely all authority in heaven and on earth. And if you're his child, then you're in his hands. Stop worrying and start resting. Today, acknowledge that he is God, and he's more than enough for everything, every situation, every moment of your life. He's more than enough. Father, thank you for those that are listening today. I just pray. The help of the Holy Spirit, comfort of your Holy Spirit and the comfort of your word, would just lift them to a place above all oppression, all fear, all anxiety, and that they would know that you are more than enough for their life, for them, for their family, that they may live a legacy of freedom for others to follow in their footsteps to Jesus. Thank you for this, Father. We give you the praise in Jesus' name. Amen. Well, I hope to see you again. Join us for our next podcast as we live a legacy of freedom.
